The CEH developed Beta 21 was expensive to develop and several manufacturers started to develop their own analague quartz movements. In Omega’s case, that resulted in the calibre 1310 or Omega Megaquartz 32 KHz. The 1310 is a modular movement; different components can be swopped out very easily.
It was introduced in 1973, the same year that Omega also introduced the tuning fork Calibre 1220 and 1230 “Megasonic 720 Hz” watches to the Basle Fair.
