Waltham

Waltham used several different movements in their electric watches.

LIP Movements:

First set of photographs show a couple of rather plain stainless steel watches.

Waltham also produced a “Spaceview” to rival the Bulova Accutron Spaceview; it is not as common as the Belforte version of the Spaveview which is also shown in some of these photographs. They employed a modified LIP R 148 movement with the following changes: the base plate was polished, a slot was cut in the base plate so the coil could be seen, the -ve battery power lead was painted a bright yellow, the keyless mechanism had a black PVD-type coating and an additional plate was added to hold back the hour hand gear. Many of these features can be seen in these genuine LIP-based Spaceviews below:

Landeron Movements:

This next watch has a Landeron 4750 movement.

Lovely “Atom” symbol dial on this watch and the shades of grey change as you hold the watch at different angles.

Note: For details on the use of modern batteries in Landeron 4750/4760 based watches, please see the relevant page in the Landeron section of this site.
