I’d like to publicly thank a few people:
Firstly, Dan Mitchell, a well-known UK-based Hamilton collector and restorer. My initial collection started with a Hamilton Pacer plus several non-running Hamilton electrics. Dan was kind enough to supply new gold contacts, numerous other parts, 505 Service Manuals.. all free-of-charge…. and not forgetting the endless emails offering invaluable practical advice on how to restore these Hamilton electrics.
René Rondeau for his excellent books “The Watch of the Future” and “Hamilton Wristwatches”. The first one is a wonderful read (a story even), not just an invaluable reference book like the second. René has also been kind enough to answer various email enquires. You can buy this book directly from René’s website: http://www.rondeau.net/
Pieter Doensen. If I’d never bought his book “Watch. History of the Modern Wrist Watch”, my collection would almost certainly have been limited to Hamilton Electrics — my wife and Bank Manager would have been pleased about that, but I’ve discovered new avenues for collecting due to this definitive book. In the interest of promoting Electric Watches , Pieter has kindly given me permission to use information from this book on this site. But this site only contains a fraction of the information in this book, so if you find this site interesting, go buy the book! Pieter can be contacted at:
